Return to Hockey

Updated September 2020 - webmaster

Hockey Canada has mandated each of its 13 Branches to work with their provincial and territorial jurisdictions to develop a plan for a Return to Hockey.  In Hockey Eastern Ontario, we first look to the public health guidance and direction provided by the Province of Ontario, then the City of Ottawa, and finally, hockey guidance from the Branch -- consistent with the Hockey Canada/HEO Return to Hockey Framework.

Currently, HEO is in Stage 3 of non-traditional hockey programming for individual player and group development.   It is only in Stage 4 that we will see a return to traditional hockey programming with League five-on-five officiated game play.

In Bytown District, we expect that of our 14 public and private rinks in District (Barbara Ann Scott, Belltown Dome, Brewer, Dulude, GrandMaitre, Jim Durrell, Kilrea, McNabb, Sandy Hill, St Laurent, Tom Brown, Carleton University, University of Ottawa, and Minto-Lancaster), both Brewer and Belltown Dome will be unavailable for an extended period of time.  We are working with the City of Ottawa facilities and private rinks to secure additional ice to make up for this shortfall in available ice.
